A bite of true Danish gastronomy

On the ground floor of our hotel is the Tivolihallen lunch restaurant. Tivolihallen is one of Copenhagen’s absolute best restaurants for open-faced sandwiches (smørrebrød), as well as one of the few places where you can still try the old Nordic delicacy called Klipfisk.

In the evening the traditional Danish cuisine is on the menu. Try for instance "Rødgrød med fløde".

OPENING HOURS
Tivolihallen is open on weekdays between 11.30 am and 4.30 pm. Tuesday to Saturday also evenings from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm

Dinner

On the corner of Farvergade and Gåsegade – near the cosy little square called Vandkunsten and a mere 100 m. from Hotel Danmark is Reinwalds, a lunch restaurant we highly recommend. Reinwalds menu is inspired by the freshest seasonal ingredients. The cooking is Danish, with touches of inspiration from both the classical and modern French cooking.

OPENING HOURS
Monday to Saturday 2.00 pm to Midnight
(the kitchen closes at 10.00 pm)
Sunday and holidays - closed

Gammel Strand

Near Frederiksholm canal, only minutes’ walk from the hotel, is Gammel Strand and a chance to sip a lovely café latte outdoors or enjoy a relaxing stroll along the canal.

The area offers a wide variety of eating out opportunities, from small cafés to gourmet restaurants.

During the Summer, Gammel Strand hosts an exciting antique market and is one of the mandatory stops for the canal tours.
Tivolihallen at Hotel Danmark - the oldest restaurant in Copenhagen for open sandwiches and clipfish Copenhagens original smorgas restaurant restaurant at Hotel Danmark, Copenhagen
Tivolihallen is genuine Danish food culture. There are only a few restaurants left in Copenhagen, where the culinary Danish sandwich tradition is still kept high. We are lucky to live on the door with one of the best: Tivoli Hallen. An old glory crowned lunch restaurant, which has retained its original charm. The classic Danish open sandwiches are served in the newly renovated and inviting surroundings.
